HIGH VOLTAGE & ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS FOR
ELECTRIC HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLES (EHDV)
TRAINING COURSE

WTA’s High-Voltage and Electrical Systems Training Course for Electric Heavy-Duty Vehicles (EHDV) equips technicians with the knowledge and hands-on diagnostic skills needed to safely troubleshoot, service, and repair high-voltage and low-voltage systems on modern heavy-duty electric vehicles. This course builds on foundational electrical and safety concepts and introduces the advanced diagnostic practices required for high-voltage propulsion systems used in electric buses, trucks, and commercial fleet vehicles.

Technicians gain a comprehensive understanding of the architecture, operating principles, and interaction of high-voltage components, including traction motors, inverters, DC/DC converters, battery management systems, and auxiliary power circuits. Training emphasizes safe work practices, systematic fault isolation, and the testing procedures necessary to evaluate system performance under load.

This course is ideal for individuals pursuing a career as an EHDV technician, as well as service managers, fleet managers, and commercial vehicle inspectors responsible for supporting or overseeing electric heavy-duty fleet operations. Participants leave with the confidence to perform accurate diagnostics, identify failure points, and carry out safe, effective repairs that minimize downtime and extend vehicle reliability.
