HYDRAULICS FOR HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLES LEVEL 1
TRAINING COURSE
WTA’s Hydraulics for Heavy-Duty Vehicles Level 1 Training Course provides technicians with a solid foundation in the principles, operation, and maintenance of hydraulic systems used across light-, medium-, and heavy-duty fleets. The course introduces the core components, fluid dynamics, and troubleshooting practices necessary to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems found on modern diesel, propane, CNG, hybrid, and electric heavy-duty vehicle platforms.

Technicians learn how hydraulic circuits function, how pressure and flow are regulated, and how system behavior is affected by component wear, contamination, temperature, and load. The course emphasizes safe work practices, accurate fault identification, and the use of diagnostic tools to evaluate pumps, valves, actuators, cylinders, reservoirs, filters, and associated control systems.

This two-day course is highly hands-on, with technicians spending significant time performing live diagnostics, inspecting components, and applying repair techniques in practical lab exercises. By the end of Level 1, participants understand how to identify common hydraulic failures, perform preventive maintenance, and carry out effective repairs that reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Students must bring approved safety glasses.
